DES MOINES, Iowa - Some Iowa hunting seasons are closing this weekend. The staggered goose season begins closing in the north zone tomorrow, followed by the south zone on Jan. 16, and the Missouri River zone on Jan. 23.
Then on Sunday, pheasant, archery turkey and deer seasons, as well as late muzzleloader deer season will come to an end.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources wants to also remind residents that quail, partridge, ruffed grouse and squirrels hunting seasons close on Jan. 31, and rabbit season closes on Feb. 28.
